Should You Buy an Essential Oil Diffuser?

Have you found yourself at a fork in the road over whether or not you should purchase an essential oil diffuser? Keep reading to find out why investing in a diffuser is one step closer to rebooting your health and boosting your mood.

In today’s fast-paced and stressful world, many of us could be looking to find some inner peace, improve our health, achieve more restful sleep or simply add a sweet smelling fragrance to our homes.

Thankfully, nature has endless abilities to heal and artnaturals has packaged an assortment of diffusers paired with the most useful essential oils for you to use at your leisure.

DIFFUSER 101

Aside from smelling all sorts of good, essential oils are also good for you. A diffuser is the easiest and most common way to maximize on the benefits of essential oils through aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is the art of using highly-concentrated natural oils that are extracted from flowers, roots, leaves, bark and other parts of a plant to enhance or restore psychological and physical well-being.

When essential oils are inhaled, aromatic molecules are absorbed through the nasal membranes and travel directly into the limbic system in the brain. The limbic system controls emotions and memory and communicates directly with the hypothalamus, which regulates the autonomic nervous system (breathing, heart rhythm, secretion of hormones, and all other unconscious functions).

Diffusers allow you to fill a desired space with a pleasantly fragranced aroma of essential oils. With some diffusers, you are able to see the essential oil vapor being released; with other devices, it’s invisible. Since there are so many essential oils to choose from, diffusers are a great way to experiment with different oil blends and smells and achieve different types of moods and wellness.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIFFUSERS:

Nebulizing Diffusers
A nebulizing diffuser requires neither heat nor water. Rather, it uses a minimal amount of electricity and work by means of air that is pressurized within a glass reservoir. The air is forced through a small tube inside the base of the glass. This pressure creates a suction which forces the essential oils to rise upwards. As the oils rise, a stream of pressurized air joins with the oils and causes it to turn into micro particles that fill the glass reservoir. Next, the tiny particles are released out of the glass in the form of a waterless mist into the atmosphere. Because nebulizers do not use water, they produce a more potent mist that quickly delivers the essential oil into the bloodstream.

Evaporative Diffusers
An evaporative diffuser usually works by way of a fan which blows air that passes through a filter that has essential oils added to it. The air blowing through the filter causes the oil to evaporate quicker than normal and is then blown out into the room.

Ultrasonic or Humidifying Diffusers
An ultrasonic or humidifying diffuser is the most popular kind of diffuser. This diffuser work by combining water and essential oils to create ultrasonic vibrations. These vibrations then release essential oil molecules into the air in the form of a cool, dry mist. The diffuser will release a continuous mist until the water runs out. This type of diffuser comes in a range of colors and styles and usually includes a built in timer that allows you to control the amount of time you desire it to run for.

At artnaturals, we offer two different ultrasonic diffusers. The first is our Standard Oil Diffuser. It includes two modes of mist and features a natural wood finish and different colored LED lights.

We also offer our Bluetooth Oil Diffuser which is larger and includes Bluetooth technology for music play, speaker clock and alarm functions. It includes the option for a continuous mist or 1, 3 and 6 hour periods.
