  Meditation Tips     Life can get stressful – to ease your mind from the chaos, meditation can help you wind down. To get started, read these important meditation tips so you can get optimal results and experience true relaxation.     Choose a Quiet Space   Choose a space where you will not be disturbed. This time is dedicated to yourself. A quiet and peaceful surrounding makes the meditation experience more enjoyable and relaxing. This is one of the most important meditation tips to know before beginning this journey.   Watch Your Posture   No matter how you’re sitting, whether it’s on the floor or in a chair, it’s important to make sure that your spine is upright with your head up. Do not slump; this will cause your mind to wander off. If your body is well-balanced, your mind will also be in balance. Be aware to keep your eyes closed and your neck and shoulders relaxed.   Do Not Eat Before Meditating   Don’t get hit with the “food-itis” while meditating! This can cause you to doze off. It’s also important to remember to not meditate on a completely empty stomach. Hunger pains can arise while you’re meditating and it can easily disturb the process. One of the important meditation tips is to meditate two hours after eating.   Breathe   Breathing steadily brings your mind to peaceful, meditative state.  Place your attention on your breathing and follow it through your nose all the way down to your lungs. It’s very important to watch the movement of your in and out breaths.   The Length of Time One of the most important meditation tips is knowing how long you should meditate for. If you are a beginner, it’s best to start out with 10 minutes. Do not force yourself to meditate longer if your mind is not ready to do so. In time, you can expand the length to 25 minutes. However, it’s important to know that everybody is different and you need to do what feels right for you!
