  The New Year is here, which means it’s time to start working on those New Year’s Resolutions! Before you start getting to work, make sure that your resolutions are worth it. Your body will feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Flush out all of the carb invested foods you had over the holidays and get your body on track to being healthier. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy French Fries here and there, just portion control.  Include more vegetables, fiber, lean meats, fruits, and teas into your diet, but not all at once. Let’s face it you will eat good for a week and then lose momentum once your sugar cravings kick in. The best way to stay on track is to gradually implement the change into your diet, not all at once.   Save That Money   New Year’s resolutions usually have to do with saving money, and for good reason. Your bank account is most likely hurting after the holiday season of spending, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get yourself back on track. Start by depositing a small amount every week into your savings every week, and then increase the amount you deposit gradually. You will practice the art of saving and watch your savings grow. It can hurt your immune system, cause insomnia, binge eating, unhealthy weight loss; the list goes on and on. Let this year be the year to manage stress and not let it affect your health. The best way to start putting this resolution into action is to start dedicating half an hour to an hour of de stressing activities. Whether its yoga, a bath, listening to music, reading a book, whatever your activity of choice is, do it!   Give Back   New Year’s resolutions don’t just have to be about bettering yourself, but can be about helping others! Volunteer at a beach clean up, soup kitchen, or local youth recreation center and give some of your time to others. Sometimes helping others is a great way to not only put your life into perspective, but to touch someone else and inspire. Push yourself to the limit, not only physically, but also mentally.
