Drink water. It’s as simple as that! Believe it or not, when you become dehydrated, your energy level decreases significantly. Water makes up at least 2/3 of the human body so it plays a major role in our normal functions. If you feel like you’re not drinking enough water, you need to be aware of replacing your body with more of this important fluid. If not, an imbalance between the salts and sugar can affect the way we perform. So next time you’re dragging at work or when you can’t get off the couch to get the chores done, be sure to have a glass of water next to you so your body can perform what your brain is wanting you to do.
Exercise is one of the most effective productivity tools, so we consider this one of our most important tips to become more productive. The majority of the cells in your brain contain mitochondria. This serves as a component to produce energy that your body needs. When you work out, your body develops more of this, which leads to a more productive lifestyle. Not only are you working out physically, but you’re also working out mentally, resulting in sharper decision making skills. To learn further details, read more here.
Wake Up EarlyYour bed is the most comfortable when you wake up in the morning, making it even harder to physically get up. If you want to be on top of things and get that ‘to-do’ list done, set your alarm for 5am. Yes, even on the weekends too! It’s amazing how just a few extra hours can boost your productivity. You’ll have time to make breakfast, get the laundry done, clean the bathroom, and more! This will give you peace of mind at the end of the day of how much you got done. Remember, the early bird gets the worm!
Write a ‘Stop Doing’ List
Do you find yourself watching too much TV? Are you spending too much time on your phone reading the latest gossip? Find time in the day to turn off the TV and put your phone down so you can get to the things that are most important. To make this happen, write yourself a ‘stop doing’ list. If you have a list of things in your head that you know is stopping you from being productive, write it down! Keep this list on a sticky note a work or on the fridge at home – this little tip is one of the most helpful tips to become more productive!
Make Daily Routines
When you set a strict routine every day, this causes you to keep track on the time throughout the day. This helps you get things done in a timely manner. Set times for when you want to leave for work, when you want to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as setting a time for when you’re ready for some shut eye. All the times in between will allow you to get other specific tasks done. If it’s easier for you, set your schedule in your phone, so you will have alerts throughout the day. We promise this can change the game on your productivity level!
